M27 - The Dumbbel nebula - Processing details

Date: 24.10.2001
Time (20:40 - 20:51UT)
Telescope: Orion Europa 200 (8" / F6)
Philips Vesta 675SC at prime focus
Capture and stacking:
Resolution: 1.92 arcsec/pixel
Seeing: limiting magnitude for naked eye 4.5
Location: balcony in urban site

One raw image from set of 25s @ 80% gain (more amount of hot pixels than stars)

One raw image from set of 45s @ 80% gain (Some nebulae structure is visible)

13x25s @80% gain, Corel PhotoPaint

13x25s @80% gain, Corel PhotoPaint+ACDSee

13x25s @80% gain,
MaximDL + Corel PhotoPaint

4x45s @80% gain, Corel PhotoPaint
13x25s is sharper than 4x45s and shows more stars, but 4x45s show more cleare nebulae structure. So I combined the two above pictures in K3CCDTools and result is in the left.
